Specialty Retro Products is proud to offer 5/8″ replacement axel collars / Lock Rings made from 6-4 Titanium. This is the same a material that is widely in the aerospace industry because it has a higher tensile and yield strength than Ti 3-2.5.
These collars are engineered to match the profile of the old Fat Chance collars that were used to only the bottom bracket axle in place on their press-in bottom brackets. We chose to make them out of titanium because the it was very common for the original alloy ones to crack and fail. Making them our or titanium will alloy the used of the same dimensions with out the risk of cracking.
ID fits a 5/8″ axle, OD is ~1″ and the thickness is ~ 5/16″. The collars are sold in pairs and each collar comes with two stainless steel set screws (M5 thread, 2.5mm allen head).
These collars will also work for other BMX type applications on other brands like Cook Bros and Bullseye Bottom brackets.
